Our promise
Happy Kids Happy Life serves people whose privacy is, sometimes, a matter of safety. We collect the minimum necessary to serve you, we never sell or share data for advertising, and we never store sensitive immigration information on this public website.
What we collect
- Help requests. Area of need, preferred language, safe contact method, contact value (phone / email), borough or ZIP, optional description, and your consent.
- Donations. Name, email, address only if required for a tax receipt or a recurring gift, and the donation amount. Card data is handled by Stripe — we never see it.
- Volunteer / mentor applications. Contact details, role, languages, availability, code-of-conduct acceptance, and background-check consent (for mentors).
- Cookies. A single session cookie to keep you signed in or to remember your language. No advertising or behavioral tracking.
What we do NOT collect
- Immigration status.
- Exact home address (unless required for a tax receipt).
- Information about anyone other than you, unless you explicitly choose to share it.
How long we keep your data
- Intake submissions are hard-deleted from this website within 24 hours of being ingested into our offline case-management system.
- Donor records are kept for the duration required by U.S. tax law (typically 7 years).
- You can request deletion of non-tax-required data at any time — see "Your rights" below.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. Write to contact@happykidshappylife.org and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
The mentorship portal is the only authenticated environment available to minors, and only after a legal guardian or program coordinator has set up the account.
Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored encrypted at rest. The back office is protected by multi-factor authentication. We perform regular security reviews.
